Progress as of Nov. 7

Lots of things have been done since this summer. Here is a recap of where I’m at on various projects:

  • Building PVC frames for windows and doorway: 10% (I’ve measured them and bought pvc…)
  • Building two 24-channel light controllers: 95% (Just need to clean them up and mount them.)
  • Building 48 channel controller for RGB+W Flood lights: 0%
  • Building 4 RGB+W flood lights: 90% (Need to mount red LEDs and test them. Look for a post about them coming soon!)
  • Make 48 extension cords for light controllers: 100%
  • Sequence music: 15% (Almost done with first song! Then, four left… this takes FOREVER!)
  • Solder FM Transmitter, create antenna, and test: 0%
  • Make or have made sign for FM signal: 0%
  • Create two eight-channel giant arches: 0%

Those are the things I can think of off the top of my head. Hopefully everything will come together, but I’m seriously doubting that I will be ready to go live the day after Thanksgiving at this point. I’m shooting for the first week of December now. We will see!

Getting on the Roof

I made measurements of the elements that will have lights this year. While doing this, I realized my roof is WAAAY too steep for me to easily climb. So, had to do some research about how the heck to get lights up there. Discovered that there are hooks that you can purchase that connect to a ladder, hook over the other side of the roof, and then allow you to climb the ladder on the roof! I also purchased some safety equipment to make sure I don’t die…

Just another step along the planning route. Lots more to do!
